Interview with KING BUZZO of MELVINS
- 2nd of July 2003 -

01. First question: How long have you been touring and how much have you still got to do?
Oh well, we did an us tour,about six weeks and then we have 2 more weeks here in Europe.
02. Melvins are considered one of the most influent sound around. A lots of the today's alternative acts are influenced by your band. Are there some new bands that you like?
That's true! I personally like Black Days(??), they're pretty good, but now i've an hole in my mind..don't remeber eheh. Lotssa more.
03. After the astonishing "26 songs" what are the nex projects?
Oh, we have a lot of things planned..we have a book, art book with a cd included, a remix record, a record we're doing with Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedys it will be finished for the end of the year. A couple of things planned for another 2 Melvins albums..we never wait long beetween records, you know.
04. How do you feel about working with Ipecac records and Mike Patton?
I'm glad. It's good, it's working out great... i like Mike, he's a crazy bastard but he's ok.
05. Now a question about the Seattle era and all this old shit. Do you regret all the attention made on you in the first 90's?
It was a special era? No i don't regret any of that. There was a lots of bands very interesting but such is life, i had some seller oppurtunity but i never had a kind of money. Things come and go..i don't find to be that special, i was part of something that i never wanted to be ..and there was a lot of things i didn't like about it.
06. What's your favourite Melvins album?
Oh I don't know. I like Hostile Ambient Takeover, Collossus of Destiny those two a lot and also Eggnog..those three.
07. As an American what do you think about Bush and the war?
I don't like to make comments about these sort of things. A lot of people have troubles for that kind of stuff. Personally don't think Bush is worse than every other President. Who's better..? you know. Ask Jello Biafra he's always talking about how Bush sucks. Who is doing a good job? Eheheh i don't know.
08. Last question. You like Italy?
Yeah, absolutely, it's funny. It's different from USA and also from the rest of Europe, when you arrive here from Switzerland all is different and more important. I mean, civilization, culture as we know it, came from here. I mean, look at our Governmet buildings, are the same of your old temples..so it's obvious this great influence.
