A killer Melvins show. I thought Dead Low Tide was good. Spencer Moody was a little annoying. But he was having a blast and giving his fans what they wanted. Mike Kunka had on his "Melvins Suck" t-shirt (that you can see at Brian's t-shirt page) under a cammo blouse.
Melvins shook the house and sold out the Troubadour. I don't remember the set list, but it was something like most of H.A.T., Anaconda, Oven, Let It All Be, a slightly different amazon, YOA and the pregnant pause (!)/Shit Sandwich. It was funny, when they did this the lights were still doing their thing, like they were synced along to a song.
There were two stage humping clowns. One of them did his little dance solo the first time. Security pulled him off, but he wiggled his way back up front. Then he and his buddy jumped up there and danced a jig. They knocked over Buzz's mic stand and disconnected Dale's headset/monitor. It fucked Dale up for a while. Jeff Thomas and the long haired blonde guy that I often see with the Melvins were tryijng to fix his rig, but I don't think they ever did. Dale worked it out like the pro he is.
Things I heard:
Buzz saw the Paul McCartney show May 5 after returning from Oz. He says there is no truth to the rumoured Pee Wee Herman collaboration w/Dee Plakas.
I bought three black t-shirts. You can see them and others at Brian's t-shirt page.
