Got to the club around 7:30. MELVINS just got their stuff set up and were hanging out. Dan from ALTAMONT was there and said "Hi!". Started talking with Dave Stone and drinking beer. Interesting talk. Soon they did a sound check. O from fluf was the only one front and center getting a full blast of MELVINS.They did about four songs.
Then management booted folks out and the line formed to go in. Joined up with my excellent partners Paul and Bonnie. Sat around drinking beer and joking around until 10:30 when fluf did their set. They were fantastic. This time, I was the only one front and center. One other person would come up every so often. They were great. I love fluf and was surprised when I found out they were opening. O said that back in the day, the MELVINS were the first band that they opened for.
The MELVINS played beautifully. It was one of my LOUDEST(!) MELVINS shows. Set list in order:

No encore, of course. We kept saying, "Play one more!" "Play five more!" "Play twenty more!" Dale asked if we didn't know a finale when we hear one and said to go home.
Said "Hi", to Steve N from the list for a split second! Hey Steve! Adam from TOOL was at the show as were MELVINS better halves. Favorite Buzzo quote of the evening: "Coffee RULES."
